Garry Wisdom of GJ Wisdom & Co Ltd, valuers and auctioneers handling this disposal, reports:
“We have good CCTV coverage of the removal of the assets as the theft progressed and the police have tracked the lorries used to haul the plant away, so that is a positive advancement. Given the value and seriousness of this crime there has been widespread National and International Media coverage, both printed and on national and local TV of the theft, which in addition to our efforts in distributing reward leaflets and our own enquires in the trade, is I understand having a positive effect. We aim to make this equipment and machinery as toxic as we possibly can, ensuring that it is too hot to handle.”
“We are now attempting to sell the remaining equipment held under the Administration from site, because this is only a few remaining items, which are now out of context with what was originally being offered. And finally, I do believe that ultimately, we will locate the equipment for recovery and sale, or prosecute and obtain financial compensation for the theft.”
“When the Administration happened, we were refused entry by the landlord and the building was locked without any means of access to the QC Polymer production plant. Finally, the factory building showed no signs of forced entry.”
